Harvest Festival

Harvest Festival

13 October 2016

On Thursday 13th October, we held our Harvest Festival Assembly. Parents and children were asked to contribute groceries for the Guernsey Welfare Service food bank in Trinity Square and we managed to collect an amazing 12 boxes of food to help families in need!

Elisha, Nicole, James, Ellie and Fleur volunteered to collect the food from around the school and, during the assembly, explained how the food would help other children in Guernsey.

As well as singing harvest songs together, Reverend Howard Stringer from St Paul’s Church joined us to celebrate our seasonal success. Also, Susie Glegg from Guernsey Welfare Service came to say a huge ‘Thank you’ on their behalf, and to take the mountain of food back to the food bank!

A gigantic ‘thank you and well done!’ goes to the children and parents at Vale being so generous and helping to make this a great success for our local community.
