We started the project in March 2018 with Year 3 helping to plant 66 native trees to create our mini woodland. We worked with Vanessa Crisppini-Adams from Trees For Life to produce the woodland.
Each Year within the school has had a part to play in the making of the woodland area, gaining an understanding of conserving our environment and different ways that we can do this and produce a rich biodiversity.
Each year there are the Insurance Corporation Conservation Awards. We decided to put ourselves forward for one of the awards and in June we were very excited to find out that we had in fact won 3 awards for our woodland project ! Best school entry, young conservationist and the People’s Choice vote!
