The main focus of home learning will relate to knowledge, understanding and practice of English and Maths skills. Other home learning will be ‘open ended’ tasks related to other subjects or topic themes. Home learning for our youngest children will involve parents and carers in joint activities. Reading will be an important focus throughout the school, be it reading, sharing or listening. Number bonds and the development of maths skills will have equal importance. For further details, please see the school’s Home Learning policy, available on request from the school offices.
We are very happy to welcome parents into the school who are able to give us some of their time to help with any of a number of activities such as games, swimming, cookery, needlework, reading and accompanying classes on school outings. There is a 'sign up' form contained within each year groups termly letter to parents from your child’s class teacher. If you are able to help, please complete this form or speak to your child’s class teacher. We are required to carry out Criminal Record checks on all helpers in school. Further details of how you can help in school can be obtained from the school office or Headteacher.
Please note that if any aspect of your child’s education gives you cause for concern, please contact their class teacher, a member of the leadership team or the Headteacher to discuss the problem as soon as possible.
If you require any further details or have any questions about the above, please contact the school directly via phone, email or letter. Alternatively, come into school and speak to one of our members of staff.
